Ram Ace Bautista is a minor model walking the ramp for local fashion designers who are just starting out in the industry. Despite his young age, this 20-year old has joined a lot of bikini contests and personality searches in and out of Metro Manila.

His initial salvo into pageants was in the Search for Mr. Kouros 2006 (together with Dave Concepcion, JP Jusay, Rickson Marquez, Dennis McIrvin, Christian Navesis, CJ Sayson, Louie Zambarrano and others). Ace was still chubby at that time and probably that was one of the reasons why he didn’t do good in the search.

He was encouraged to lose all the baby-fats and he again joined another competition - the Search for Datu Marikudo 2007 (together with Marvin Bautista).

Talent agents discovered him in Kouros and Search for Datu Marikudo 2007 and cast him as one of the T-Show models which had a run in February of this year.

Ace came back into the pageant scene a couple months later with a more toned physique. He showed it off at the Hataw Super Bodies Bikini Contest 2007. He still wasn’t successful in the competition, however, it served as a good exposure for him because he has received a lot of offers after the show.

I have seen this guy in Glorietta, and I think he has a lot of potential. He is taking all the necessary steps to improve himself to be a better model. However, he is still a work in progress and needs a bit more polishing.

On a personal note, I think he bears a striking resemblance to the Revillas (who are Bautistas in real life). Could he be actually related to the famous clan from Cavite? Is he one of the 80-plus children of the goodlooking senator Ramon Revilla, Sr.? Well, these are conjectures based on mere observations. You decide.
