Marco Antonio Aranas: Another Great Find From Cebu
|
Marco Antonio Aranas is a model from Cebu and is currently being managed by one of Cebu’s top modeling agencies, OZAR Model Agency. He is also a member of the Models Association of Cebu (MAC), which seems to be the counterpart of Manila’s Professional Models Association of the Philippines (PMAP). This 20-year old stunner is a part of the elite group of half-breed (read: half-Filipino) models making their rounds in fashion shows down south. Cebu’s goldmine of male talents include Joevince Canizares, Mark Loyola, Handrew Maxilom, Siegfried Schmidt, Cassidy Shun, Zalcris Shun and Stephane Urtizbera. In the Philippines, I thought that Manila was at the forefront of fashion. However, when I saw what Cebu has to offer, I realized that the Queen City of the South can give Manila a run for its money. Cebu’s fashion industry has tremendously improved over the last few decades and has matched or even surpassed Manila’s achievements in terms of fashion. And Marco has been a witness to all of these, having walked the ramp for the designers such as Philip Rodriguez, Salvador “Sal” Malto, Allain Fonte, and others at the summer forecast collection of Stylewatch 2008 Cebu Having captured the Cebu market, Marco wanted to broaden his horizons by conquering the Manila market as well. He joined the Be Bench model search to realize this goal. His name was included in the list of top 15 male candidates (together with fellow Cebuano model Martin Grogaard); however, when it was further trimmed down, he was no longer included in the shortlist of 6 final male candidates. Despite having been eliminated early on in the Be Bench Model Search, I guess Marco has made quite an impression with the Manila model scouts. I suppose we will be seeing more of this Cebuano lad in the fashion runways of Manila pretty soon. |
