Alizon Andres: Big Things Come In Small Packages
|
This is my second post on Alizon Andres (Click Here for the first post). Alizon Andres is another Mercator Model Management talent who is currently making waves in the commercial modeling industry. He recently competed in the Century Body Superbods Beachfest 2007 where he was able to bag the People’s Choice Award. You may often see his face in billboards, print ads and tv commercials for products ranging from instant noodles to telecommunications services to soda crackers and pain relievers. At first glance you may be puzzled as to why this seemingly plain-looking lad is getting all the projects. The answer came flashing back to me as I remember one conversation I had with a commercial model friend of mine. He told me that commercial models get offers not simply because of their looks but because of their ability to act and perform in front of the camera. Although being goodlooking is a plus, it is not the end all and be all of being a commercial model. He needs to portray the role that is required of him in the script made by the ad agency for the product he is to endorse. It helps to have a bit of acting experience, so getting into acting workshops and acting in school plays really play a big role if you dream to appear in commercials. Sometimes, roles also require the commercial models to have special skills or talents, so it also pays to hone your God-given gifts. My friend added that once you have landed your first commercial (after rigorous screentests and tons of VTRs), projects will come pouring in soon thereafter. And this is what happened to Alizon. Apparently, he did good in his first set of commercials, and he has been “requested” (as loosely termed by my friend) to appear in others. I recently sighted Alizon in the recently concluded Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash where he shared the ramp with popular Filipino and novice Brazilian models. Alizon, despite being 5’10″ in height, seems to be diminutive amidst his towering fellow models. He looks like an awkward boy among the sea of men. Well, Alizon, you’ve already made it big in commercials and you’re already a BIG MONEY MAKER for Mercator. If I were you, I’d concentrate on doing more tv commercials, you are better at it. It will be more profitable in the long run. Believe me. |
