Mark “Mac” Manicad is a 20-year old model who has recently been featured in Cosmopolitan’s most awaited annual magazine supplement, 69 Most Eligible Bachelors. He, together with Joaquin “Ken” Casado, Al Galang (as Johnny Z), Paolo Adrian Guevarra, PJ Hipolito, Michael Hoo, Cris Lomotan, Mark Onir, Lem Pelayo, Adrian Racho, JC Tiuseco, Aaron Tuiza, Mike Young, Carlo Guevarra (Be Bench Model Search Grand Winner) made it to this year’s shortlist of drool-worthy hunks.

He started out in modeling while he was in his mid-teens and was able to bag his first major print ad, PLDT Super Saver. A few months later he starred as one of the “nice guys” in the First Day High Commercial for Rexona.

His tvc for the popular deodorant brand was sort of a stepping stone for him to get into showbusiness. He signed up for Starstruck (GMA7’s popular search for new stars) and if I’m not mistaken, he made it to the Top 30. While connected with the Kapuso network, he starred in the digital trilogy “Puso 3″.

Getting much needed exposure through said commercial and appearances in GMA7, he was noticed by the producers of ABS-CBN’s Super Inggo and immediately cast him as one of the villains in the show. Following his successful teleserye debut, he appeared in one episode for another ABS-CBN show, Your Song.

However, these acting job offers came more scarce especially with the advent of Star Circle’s Batch 15. Mark was forced to put acting in the backseat and go back into modeling. He joined the Be Bench Model Search but only made it during through the first round. And then came the offer to do the Cosmopolitan Magazine’s 69 Most Eligible Bachelors.

At the recent Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash, he was exuded the perkiest youthful attitude among the hunks who paraded the ramp. It seems that he was really excited to be featured in the show.

When I met him a year ago, he possessed an angelic face but lacked in the physique department. But now, Mark has greatly transformed himself from the young lanky lad to this stunning hunk we have today. Probably, he has already realized that he has to tap all his potentials while he’s young. Do we have a future matinee idol in our midst?
