Hair Color: Dark Brown Austin “AJ” Winkler is one of the most bankable models in the Philippines. His distinct tanned chinito look sets him apart from the still mestizo-dominated modeling industry in the country. At present, his career is being managed by one of the best modeling agencies in Manila, Mercator Model Management. This Cagayan de Oro city native’s mainstream modeling career started via the MTV Fashionista Best Model Search in 2004. He, along with 9 other amateur models (Victor Basa, Anthony Madden, Dennis McIrvin, Don Mendoza, John Daryl Rose, Rocky Salumbides, Jerome Uy and James Zablan), vied for three plum spots, Best Male Model of the World – Philippines, Mr. Intercontinental – Philippines, Manhunt International – Philippines. AJ was fortunate enough to have been declared the Philippine representative to the Mr. Intercontinental tilt held in Germany. His exposure in the local model search served as a stepping stone for him to bag more modeling assignments the most notable of which are his ads for Bench Body and Bench Scents. This Eurasian hunk (he is half-German and half-Filipino) also boasts of having walked the ramp for Bench, Folded and Hung, and Philippine Fashion Week featured designers, among others. Aside from walking the runways for local and international fashion brands, he has also paraded the stage together with other models for the annual Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash. Although I didn’t get to see him at this year’s staging of the event. |
