Jon Mullally: Another Heartthrob In The Making

This is my fourth feature on Jon (Click the following links for the first and second posts about him: 1 | 2 | 3). The rumors were true. Jon Avila or Jonathan “Jon” de la Cruz Mullally in real life, the Filipino-British hunk who is being touted as the next Sam Milby, is the twelfth housemate to enter the PBB House this season. The 6′2″ hunk, who is currently one of the leading endorsers of Bench clothing, is expected to show the Filipino viewers that he is not merely a pretty face and a gorgeous body. In the show, he intends to reveal his true personality – one which has been subjected to several hardships in the United Kingdom and in the Philippines. Jon’s life in London was not an easy one. He suffered racial discrimination due to his Pan-Asian heritage. He left for Manila to seek a better future; but his journey to the top was not devoid of hardships. He recalls having survived living in a cramped room without electricity. Those days, however, are only shadows of his past. He is now one of the most sought-after models in the land and one of the newest additions to ABS-CBN’s roster of stars. Apart from being included in this year’s batch of Cosmopolitan Magazine’s ten most-eligible bachelors [together with Joem Bascon, Jake Cuenca, Dingdong Dantes, Bruno Folster, Luke Jickain, Paolo Paraiso, Derek Ramsey, Alfred Vargas and Marvin Wijangco (aka Marvin Raymundo)], Jon was recently cast in the movie entitled “Nars” alongside popular actors Coco Martin, Jennylyn Mercado and Jodi Sta. Maria. He served as a replacement to fellow Filipino-British hunk, Andrew Wolff. The independent film will hold special screenings in key cities within the Philippines before its actual November playdate. At the PBB Celebrity Edition 2 Über, the green-eyed mestizo made a grand entrance by stepping out of a white limousine clad only in boardshorts and flip-flops. He was welcomed into the house by the show’s hosts Mariel Rodriguez and Bianca Gonzales. However, as an additional twist to the show’s already colorful line up of housemates and interesting surprises, one of the show’s hosts, Mariel, was made to escort Jon inside the PBB House and was refused exit upon Pinoy Big Brother’s request making her the first ever houseguest this season. With Jon’s entry into the PBB House, he is definitely going to be a household name in Filipino homes worldwide. I think we have another matinee idol in the making. nag search ako 1 time s xtube.com npraning ako kay vincent. accidentally ko lng n search ung pics nya. search for pictures then julzky ung account name nung nag upload meron xa dun mga pics ni vincent… un ung name ng super hot n guy. sana i feature xa here s uph…

mabait nga sha and humble… i’ve talked to him sa abs cbn. at pwede ba, wala shang kahit konting lansa sa katawan. pero hindi sha yung matatawag na guwapo talaga. sa pictures nga kailangan pa hanapan ng certain angle para maging eye catching… in public, napapansin lang sha dahil sa height. his facial features are nothing to write home about. ewan ko ba, pero hindi talaga ako na-aatract sa kanya. kahit siguro ilabas nya ang nota nya at idikit sa fez ko, hindi ko pa rin hahadahin. hihihi

raffy is right guys.. pls dont bring this up into a more serious issue.. lets respect the guy and never make judgement whether to his physical attributes that makes him gwapo with some followers and somehow not really ok with the others as what they think… we all have the right to say our own opinion but please never judge.. again RESPECT. im not saying this because his my friend (right guys i had a chance to work with and had a small talk with jon in one of this fashion show he was part of.. he was nice no pretentiouns quite snob at first.. well its a given fact…) but because i feel for the guy being bombarded here with almost everything even malicious thought about his sexuality… just sharing my personal opinion guys no violent reaction pls.. thankss a lot!!! no fightin :)

IN RE: THE ALLEGATION AGAINST JON FOR BEING A “USER”
As a huge fan of Jon Avila (formerly known as, Jon Mullaly) I am very much dismayed on how he is being depicted lately in the Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition 2! The incident was brought about when a so-called “Clear Anti- Dandruff Shampoo – Black/Halloween themed party” was conducted inside the PBB House just a week ago. This Ethel Booba sort of started the “baseless accusation” when she warned a co- housemate Mariel Rodriguez to stay away or at least, be cautious in sticking with Jon.
Sinabi kong “baseless accusation” dahil wala namang direct instance na maipahayag itong si Ms. Ethel sa pagiging “manggagamit” ni Jon. Ano ba ang naging basis nya; dahil lang friend ni Jon si Andrew Wolfe?! Assuming na totoong minsang ginamit ni Andew at Gwen Garci itong si Ethel Booba just for the sake of publicity… Logic dictates that, Jon has nothing to do with it! It doesn’t follow na just beause you are friends with someone, both of the individuals involved will share the exact same character! Hindi ba nga’t iyon ang gustong ipakita ng Pinoy Big Brother sa kanilang manunuod na; “Lahat tayo’y may pagkakaiba?!”
Ayaw ko ng mag- enumerate ng instances wherein the “credibility” of Ms. Ethel has been put in issue! Alam na ng publiko yun! Pangit lang na matapos ang insidente, patuloy pa rin syang uma-alingawngaw at baka maka- apekto ng husto sa pagkakakilanlan ng manunuod kay Jon!
I stand firm in stating that Jon Avila is a good guy and he doesn’t deserve all this fiasco pertaining to his character. Mabuti ang pakikitungo nya sa lahat ng housemates! Its kinda odd actually, na isang mabuting kaibigan ang turing ni Jon kay Ethel tapos pagdududahan lang ng huli ang sincerity nito at aakalaing may “hidden agenda” pa si Jon?! Seriously Ms. Ethel, what the heck is wrong with you???
And as far as I can observe, nothing really “serious” is going on between Jon and Mariel. Na hy- hype lang masyado dahil aminado naman ‘tong si Mariel na kini-kilig siya kay Jon. With Jon naman, he was gentleman enough in not taking advantage of the situation! Na- explain na actually ni Jon na, “Medyo nakaka- lonely sa loob ng bahay ni Kuya and he enjoyed the company of Mariel because she’s sweet, funny and all that!”- But that is just about it! Pwede ring tignan ang anggulo na baka may “delikadesa” ‘tong si Jon in not pursuing Mariel kasi nga, attached na ‘to with Zanjoe Marudo! Eh di ba nga’t magka-trabaho ang dalawa (Jon and Zanjoe) sa ASAP as Coverboys! Again, a clear indication na good guy talaga ‘tong si Jon!
Watching the “Pinoy Big Balita” segment which was aired last November 7 & 8, was indeed a “roller-coaster ride” for me! Nung una, inakala ko na masyado yatang pinagdidik-dikan yung issue na “manggagamit” nga si Jon! Nakakapikon at nakakaasar!!! Kaya lang after magkaroon ng chance for clarification, at least Jon had the opportunity to explain his side. Malaking bagay yun para sa aming mga supporters niya! Marami mang nag- akala na baka totoo nga yung pagiging “user” niya… Para sa akin, hindi ako nag-duda miski isang saglit man lang. Or even, entertain such silly allegation!
The “November 9, 2007 PBB episode” was one of TV’s finest hour, when Jon had the 100 seconds encounter with his beloved Mom. Kahit na ba mukhang kinawawa si Jon for the past few days nang hindi ito makatanggap ng “gift” from his loved ones, nagkaroon naman siya ng rare chance to at least talk and hug his mother even for a short and limited time. See, mas pina-hahalagahan ni Jon ang brief encounter niya with his mom against any material stuff. I especially liked the introductory interview that Toni Gonzaga conducted with Jon’s mom! At last, na- point out din na even if Jon may appear “suplado” or mysterous… He really is a nice person. Oftentimes lang talaga na nami-misunderstood ang pagiging quiet niya! Na- emphasize din na walang co- housemate na nakaka- clash itong si Jon at lahat nakakasundo niya! Needless to say, these are all evidentiary fact tending to prove Jon’s pure character!
To close this, I would like to stress once more na hindi “user” si Jon at ang manggamit ng kung sino man sa showbiz ay ‘di niya na kakailanganin pa! I mean, come on… If anyone would just take the time to have a “good and hard look” on him (even, a “quick glance” will suffice!) It is pretty much obvious na pang star material na siya and ready for stardom. He can be a big- shot celebrity according to his own terms! Hindi niya kailangang mang-apak o tumuntong man kung kanino para lang siya ay umangat. Deserving siya to whatever big opportunities that ABS-CBN will hand over to him! I’ll bet my life on that!
Kaya, GO JON!!! Be the “Grand Celebrity Housemate” that you are destined to be! Nandito lang kaming mga supporters mo to make your showbiz journey quite an ease. If another “obstacle” will arise sooner or later, I would be more than willing to take your side once again, and defend you all the way! God Speed!!!
