Leighton Galzote is a 24-year old model who hails from Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte. His first exposure into modeling was via the male pageant Ginoong Pilipinas back in 2006 (where Ken Escudero aka Alvin Asuncion won the title). In the said competition, he was adjudged Ginoong Pilipinas – Mindanao (one of the major titles). Check out the video of him during the talent night of the pageant, below.

Following his success in the national competition, modeling projects started to pour in. However, these projects were mostly minor fashion shows for swimwear and intimate wear.

He then joined Hataw Superbodies Bikini Open (1 | 2) in April of this year, but lost to eventual winner Kish McBride. He, together with other male pageant hopefuls, pursued their modeling careers and continued to appear in minor fashion shows in bars and sing-along joints in the metro.

On September 2007, he was chosen to appear in one of the biggest intimate wear fashion shows in Metro Bar – All Out. He walked the ramp together with seasoned bikini models Bobby Oris and Zachi Uy. He proved to be one of the more worthwhile visual feasts in the said show. He also appeared in the fashion show, Heavenly Bodies, which definitely failed in comparison to All Out.

Due to insistent public clamor for All Out to have a repeat, the organizers decided to put up All Out 2 which will run on November 21. And of course, Leighton will be one of the male mannequins to model the intimate wear.

Wanting to get into mainstream modeling, Leighton was recently sighted applying for Leg 9 of the popular model search, Style Eyecatchers, where he is pitted against Joaquin Casado and Mr. Philippines – International 2007, Ian Leonel Porlayagan.

There are unconfirmed reports circulating that aside from modeling, Leighton will be joining the indie film bandwagon via his launching movie “Sauna Boy”.

I see a lot of promise in this hardworking guy. I hope the producers also recognize this and give him bigger breaks. As I see it, he has honed his craft very well and is ripe for the picking – he is ready to join the world of showbiz.
