If Iran has caught the ire of the rest of the world due to the claims raised by the United States that it is developing nuclear warheads within its territory, in the Philippines, it is a totally different story. We have embraced what Iran has to offer - from Persian rugs and Shawarma to Hooka (Shisha). It seems that the Philippines is developing a penchant for the Middle eastern country situated between Iraq and Afghanistan.

In the Philippine fashion scene, Iranian models (actually, Filipino-Iranian models) are making their presence felt. Previously, we had Kian Kazemi (who rose to fame in Pinoy Big Brother) and Peiman Gomari (who is now an ABS-CBN Star Magic talent); and now, we have Sassan Shokouhi.

Sassan Shokouhi is a 22-year old Filipino-Iranian model who has slowly been getting recognition in the commercial modeling scene, having appeared in several tv commercials, the most popular of which is his lead role in the advertisement for Master Hairwax. He has also been given ramp modeling assignments by his handler, Victo Rio Modeling Agency, in this year’s Cosmopolitan Bachelor Bash and Samsung Metrowear Fashion show.

To gain more exposure as a model, he will be joining a yet to be disclosed all-male modeling competition which is slated for the first quarter of next year, so let’s watch out for that. Things could only get better for this next top Filipino male model.
