Sid Lucero: Young Character Actor
|
Sid Lucero is Timothy Mark Eigenmann in real life. He is the son of commercial model / actress Bing Pimentel and actor Mark Gil. His screen name has its origins from the character his father played in the movie “Batch ’81″. This movie has a special significance in Sid’s life because this is where his mother and father met and fell in love. He started out in showbiz by being a commercial model. He did commercials for BPI Express Cash, Chippy, Globe Telecom and Shakey’s during his college days at the Ateneo de Manila University so he could pay for his tuition. However, his earnings from his commercials wouldn’t suffice for Levitra Online his college expenses so he sought the help of his father’s friend, Ricky Gallardo, for the latter to manage him in showbusiness. At first, he was just in it for the money; however, after undergoing his first workshop with Peque Gallaga and Gabby Fernandez, he was bitten by the acting bug and has since fallen in love with the craft. His first acting job was in 2004 via the GMA7 soap opera, “Hanggang Kailan” where he acted alongside brilliant actors Lorna Tolentino and Christopher de Leon. He was then cast as “Igo/Sugo Ng Kadiliman” in ABS-CBN’s Krystala later that year. Soon after his stint in “Krystala” ended, he came back to GMA7 and played the role of the young “Asval” in the prequel to “Encantadia” – “Etheria”. Having developed the passion for acting, he agreed to star in low-budget independent films such as Donsol, Tambolista, Syquijor: Mystic Island and Tagapagligtas. And now, we will see him in another remarkable performance in a digital film entitled “Selda”. Selda (see the trailer below) is a poignant tale of a man who, after being subjected to several trials, was able to find love in one of the most unexpected places – the prison. However, his struggle doesn’t end there. After serving his sentence, he tries to regain his identity as a family man while trying to harmonize it with a newly discovered identity of himself he found within the prison walls. The movie brings together remarkable performances by Ara Mina, Emilio Garcia, Michael de Mesa, Alan Paule, Soliman Cruz, Ping Medina and of course, Sid Lucero in a single cinematic masterpiece. It is directed by relatively greenhorn directors Ellen Ramos and Paolo Villaluna. Incidentally, Selda will have its regular run at the Robinson’s Galleria IndieSine and Robinson’s Place-Ermita Cinemas on February 13-19, 2008. Not afraid to accept any kind of role which comes his way, Sid is on the path of becoming a great character actor in the future. |
