Miguel Salveron: Hunk From The Past No. 13
|
Do you still remember the mid-90s Islacom Pager TV commercial where a certain hottie changed from his work attire to his beach attire right inside the elevator? Well, that hunk was Miguel Salveron during his modeling heyday in the Philippines. Miguel Salveron is a half-Filipino half-Aussie model who was born in Hong Kong. He finished his education in his native Australia and earned a marketing degree at the University of Sydney. This 5′10″-tall hunk then pursued his modeling career and was able to work all over Asia and Australia as a successful print ad, commercial and ramp model. While in the Philippines, he did several print ads and tv commercials, the most popular of which is the aforementioned Islacom Pager TV ad. Via this ad, he was transformed from a virtual unknown to one of the most sought-after models in the industry. He was even invited to do pictorials with renowned Filipino photographer Raymond Lontok. Miguel was also given the chance to be featured in Raymond Lontok’s coffee table book entitled, “Rice”. Wanting to broaden his horizons, he also ventured into acting. Miguel became one of the leading men of Miya Nolasco in her launching picture, “Reputasyon” (Romano Vasquez being the other leading man). The movie didn’t really do good in the box office and this became Miguel’s first and last movie in the Philippines. Although Miguel’s acting career never really took off, his hunky role in the Islacom TV commercial made a lasting impression. Where could he be now? |
