Janvier Daily: Getting Personal
|
This is my second post on Janvier Daily (Click Here for the first post) Janvier Daily, the guy who became an instant celebrity by being romantically linked to comedienne Ethel Booba and by the infamous cellphone photo scandal, will be appearing on the big screen again starting February 2, 2008 at the Robinson’s Galleria IndieSine via the digital film “Roxxxanne”. This would be the first commercial release of the movie (which was written and directed by Jun Lana) after the screening of its unrated version at the UP Film Center on October 10, 2007. In the said movie, Janvier plays the role of Jonas, who would be the object of desire of his closeted gay friend Marlon (played by Jay Aquitania). The two develop a unique friendship which is put to the test by the arrival of a mysterious woman named Roxxxanne. Marlon would go to great lengths get hold of cellphone scandals to please his friend Jonas and to fulfill his lustful interest for him. In the process, he would unearth a video apparently of Roxxxanne which will change his life forever. This would be Janvier’s first starring role in a motion picture (he appeared as one of the miners in the movie “Troika”) and it seemed like Janvier’s acting skills were innate. Probably this is due to the fact that he has gone through a lot in life and he could draw emotions easily from these experiences. In Jun Lana’s recent interview with Janvier, the latter candidly admitted that he lived a troubled life when he was younger. He used to live on the streets of Manila with his mother and seven other siblings until he was taken in by the Manila Youth Reception Center (a place for juvenile delinquents). He recounts his bad experiences on the streets and in the center and how he was able to conquer these adversities. He even confessed that he used a fake elementary and highschool diploma in order to get into a University where he also played for its varsity basketball team. Jun Lana was taken aback by these revelations from one of his movie’s stars which led him to comment that Janvier’s story could be an episode of a drama anthology. On a personal note, I was moved by Janvier’s story and I sincerely hope that he succeeds in showbiz. In this light, show your support for Janvier by watching the movie “Roxxxanne”. The movie also stars Sheree, Jay Aquitania, Elizabeth Oropesa, Bodjie Pascua, Jeffrey Tam, Mel Martinez, Hanni Miller and Xeno Alejandro.
