Richard Gutierrez was allowed by his home studio’s film arm GMA Films, whom he has an exclusive contract with, to sign a one-picture deal with Star Cinema to be KC Concepcion’s leading man in one of her movies with ABS-CBN’s film outfit. This entertainment tidbit comes as a big surprise to those who are aware of the network war raging on between the two broadcasting giants which own the mentioned film outfits. What was earlier touted as inconceivable came about and everyone in the entertainment industry is still shocked but elated about this development.

However, the GMA Films negotiation doesn’t come with a price. The management of the Kapuso network’s film arm will make a big announcement very soon with regard to their end of the bargain. Nevertheless, it is a welcome move of the networks. They set aside their differences and gave in to the public clamor of seeing the on screen team up of these two members of Philippine showbiz royalty.

The Richard-KC big screen team up will be slated for release at the latter part of the year and will be directed by no less than popular television and movie director Joyce Bernal.
