AJ Dee: Why His Career Never Really Took Off
|
Angel James Dee III, or more popularly known as AJ Dee, is a model/actor whose foray into showbiz was via his stint at Mossimo Bikini Summit in 2003. In the model search, he competed with the likes of Mico Areglado, Brent Javier, Rodolfo Solis, Jr. (aka Miguel Garcia), KC Thadani, Jerome Uy and several others. He was very fortunate to have been adjudged as the first runner up in the said event. A few months later, he joined Bodyshots and then TV Idols in the now defunct noontime show “MTB: Ang Saya Saya”. Following these exposures, he was given regular hosting stints and acting jobs in his home network, ABS-CBN. He was made a regular host in the morning show “MRS” Cheap Brand Levitra Online Without Prescription and in the Wanna Buzz segment of the sunday afternoon showbiz-oriented talk show, “The Buzz”. In 2005, he was introduced in the movie “Dreamboy” and he also became part of the cast of the teleserye “Vietnam Rose”. Although he had been given other projects such as appearances in the movies “Mano po 5: Gua ai di (I love you)” and “You Got Me!” and television shows “Komiks”, “Rounin” and “Margarita”, AJ’s career never really took off. He has never really risen to leading man status and has remained a player of bit parts in movies and television shows. What could be wrong with AJ? His modelesque frame and dashing goodlooks could have easily landed him lead roles. However, this hasn’t really happened. The major reason could be attributable to his lack of personality which makes his performances less than stellar. It seems that whenever you see him act onscreen, he is disinterested in what he’s doing. Recently, he was given good exposures in the teleserye “Palos” and in the movie “When Love Begins”. Despite this, his performances could be described as forgettable and regrettable. At present, he is just better known as Enchong Dee‘s older brother as the latter’s star has already shone brighter than his. I just hope AJ gets to read this post and gets to realize that if he wants to stay longer in showbiz, he has to work on his personality – he has to be a bit more lively and enthusiastic about doing his acting tasks. Aside from that, he has to go through acting workshops to hone his thespian skills. Photo Credit: Anthony Yu for some pics in this post |
