After his superb performance as a closeted prison inmate who falls in love with his fellow prisoner, Sid Lucero, in the movie “Selda”, Emilio Garcia revisits playing the role of a closeted gay man in the movie “Eskandalo”. The latter is a loosely-based silverscreen adaptation of the youtube.com scandal which involved a gay man, a call boy, a canister and several disrespectful hospital personnel who gave medical attention to the poor gay guy. However, the difference in the movie lies in the foreign object inserted in the gay guy’s behind - instead of a canister, a ten-inch marker was put in its place.

In an interview, Emilio was asked if he felt uncomfortable in portraying a gay role once again, to which he responded in the negative. He added that he takes each role as a challenge and even if he gets typecast to do gay roles, he would gladly accept them as this is what his job entailed.

In the movie “Eskandalo”, Emilio is paired with up and coming bold actor Andrew Schimmer who will play the role of the former’s lover. The character actor teased the reporters by saying that he and Andrew had a steamy shower love scene in the movie which makes it all the more intriguing. “Eskandalo” is directed by Joven Tan.
