The film led by Johnron TaƱada and Gabz del Rosario, Kambyo, had a well-attended special screening on July 5, 2008 at the UP Film Institute. Among those in attendance joining Johnron and Gabz were their co-stars in the indie film, Ray-An Dulay, Kenjie Garcia and Harold Macasero. According to those who were able to watch the film, Kambyo’s storyline was simple – intertwined love stories among men who had a different orientation. It was a light drama which had comical touches told through a very good narrative. Despite the absence of overbearing storylines and complicated, multidimensional characters, Kambyo was able to send its point across. So, for those who enjoy feel good movies with a twist, here’s one which is highly recommended. The number of people who flocked to UP Film Institute reaffirms the power of pink cinema. It seems that gay-oriented films are here to stay. If you missed the July 5 special screening, don’t fret, it will have its regular run starting July 9 at the Robinson’s Galleria IndieSine. On the same day, at 5pm, the stars of the movie will pay the Robinson’s Galleria cinema lobby a visit for a Meet-and-Greet. Photo credits: Mell Navarro and Rommel Lindain |

i really like the movie… i wanna commend the director whose really versatile in doing different genre of films… i’ve watched “ang lalake sa parola” which is romance, “lihim ni antonio” which is a tragic film, and here is “KAMBYO” whose very light but i know it happens in real life. i also want to say “good job!!!” to kenjie garcia… i will still watch it at galleria tomorrow together with my friends ‘coz they weren’t able to watch its premiere night because of their hectic schedules. watching in a premiere night is a great opportunity because you will have the chance to have picture taking with the cast and i can say they(the cast) are really great and sincere having picture-taking with their fans…. AS A FAN, CALL CENTER AGENT, AS A GAY, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY AS A PERSON, – TWO THUMBS-UP – TO EVERYONE WHO’S PART OF THIS GREAT FILM. GOD BLESS AND MORE POWER! allain_012000@yahoo.com
