Benj Besa on just needing the right break
|
Benjamin “Benj” Besa was introduced as one of the members of G4 (comprised of himself, Andrew Schimmer, Kiel Rodriguez, and Jay Aquitania) in the now defunct GMA7′s sitcom “Kool Ka Lang”. The group seemed to be the heir-apparent of the ’90s teen group, Gwapings. However, the careers of these guys never really took off. In 2007, Benj re-emerged in the spotlight by joining the 2007 Mr. Philippines-World competition. His height and goodlooks easily landed him a spot in the Top Ten. Soon after the competition, he was signed up by Star Magic to be one of the members of its 15th batch of promising young stars (together with Jon Mullally, Marvin Wijangco and Peiman Borja Gomari). Upon signing up with ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, he was given supporting roles just to get some exposure in the biz (he was one of the villains in the superhero series “Lastikman” together with Sylvester cialis cheap Ram Sagad and Marvin Wijangco). He was also given a bit part in the popular Filipino adaptation of the Korean series “My Girl”. Probably realizing that in Star Magic Batch 15, only Jon and Marvin have been given much attention by the network (both being members of Coverboys and each having their respective shows), he set out to make a name for himself the hard way. In a recent footage shown on TV Patrol World, he was sighted trying out in one of the go-sees for Experience Blackout: the Bench Denim and Underwear show. I hope he makes the cut. His appearance in the show will definitely make ABS-CBN top honchos take notice of this mestizo guy who happens to be possessing all the qualities of a matinee idol. He just needs the right break and he could easily make a name for himself in Philippine showbiz. |
