John James Uy was one of the last three men standing in Be Bench: The Model Search last year, the other two being Carlo Guevarra and Ron Morales. Out of the three, he was first to be booted out and next was Ron. Carlo was declared grand winner.

Since the close of the reality model search, John James has been visible on television albeit sporadically. He appeared in commercials for Carefree and Colgate Fresh Confidence. He was featured in a month-long series of Love Spell where he was cast as Prince William in the Kim Chiu-Gerald Anderson team up, “Cindy-rella”. And lest we forget, we get to see him every Sunday in his stint with the hunky band of men, “Coverboys”, regularly performing at the ASAP ‘08 stage. However, among his showbiz projects, his most notable are his appearances in Bench campaigns and fashion shows.

It could be remembered that during the finals night of Be Bench, Mr. Ben Chan announced that he will be utilizing the services of the final six contestants from the search. Mr. Chan kept his word. After the competition, the final Be Bench six would always be included in Bench posters, billboards, commercials and shows. And at the recently concluded Experience: Blackout, they were given special exposures. John James, Ron and Carlo walked the ramp together in the Abi Goy segment of the show donned in yellow skivvies with origami birds attached to their shoulders. John James particularly made a lasting impression as he pulled his underwear to expose a bit more skin and tease the members of the audience.
