Matinee idol JC de Vera was a revelation at the recently concluded Experience: Blackout fashion show. It was the first time that he walked the ramp bare-chested, wearing only aqua blue jeans, exposing the buffed body he has worked so hard at the gym for. Never have we seen his body in his shows in GMA7 and it was a pleasant surprise that he showcased his wares for his admiring fans to see. It was an opportune time for him to shed off the wholesome image he has long been projecting and don the hunkier image he is better suited with.

Could this new image be a prelude to what we have to expect in his upcoming GMA7 series, “Lalola”? “Lalola” is a Philippine remake of the popular Argentine series of the same name. It is a comedy about a man named “Lalo”, a successful businessman, an editor of a magazine and a casanova. He encounters a woman who falls madly in viagra buy viagra online love with him but whom he refuses to commit to. To teach him a lesson, the woman consults a witch who casts a spell that turns Lalo into a beautiful woman. As a woman, he cannot convince anyone of the metamorphosis he underwent, so he assumed the identity of Lalo’s imaginary cousin named “Lola” (Rhian Ramos). Without realizing it, he, er, she starts to feel a certain affinity towards her co-worker (a character played by JC de Vera).

If this is based on an Argentinian soap, does this mean that we would be expecting steamy scenes too, like in most South American telenovelas? I surely hope so. If I were to direct the show, a topless JC de Vera would have to be featured in every scene.
