Hardcourt heartthrob Chris Tiu is on his final playing season for the Ateneo Blue Eagles at the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) this year – UAAP Season 71. He shouldn’t have been eligible to play this season as college cagers are only given five playing years in the league or until they reach the age of 24 – Chris has been with UAAP since Season 66. However, his decision to skip the games and go to France as an exchange student last year, extended his eligibility term in the college basketball league for another year.

His free time last year allowed him to host GMA7′s early Saturday evening show, Pinoy Records, together with acclaimed Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao. Come August 18, 2008, Chris is set to host another show on GMA7, “Ripley’s Believe it or Not”, taking the timeslot left by the recently cancelled “Kung Ako Ikaw”. That would be double the dose of this chinito cager every week – Pinoy Records on Saturdays and Ripley’s Believe it or Not on Mondays.

These make 2008 an extremely busy year for the basketball-player-entrepreneur-barangay-kagawad-tv host Chris.
