JC de Vera, one of GMA7′s homegrown talents, is in the spotlight in his home network this month as he gets to be the featured actor in the drama anthology, “Obra”. “Obra” which means “masterpiece” in English, is a primetime drama series which showcases GMA7′s most sought-after actors and actresses as they play unconventional roles we have never seen them play before. Each episode is touted to be a cinematic masterpiece for television as a stellar cast is assembled to support the featured star and a brilliant director is made to take the helm. The pilot month of “Obra” featured rising star Katrina Halili. JC is the second actor to be featured in the show.

In the initial episode of “Obra Presents: JC de Vera” entitled “Pretty Boy”, the young actor will play the role of a macho dancer. It will be the first time that JC will play a role as daring as this one. This will also be JC’s appearance onscreen without a loveteam partner.

I guess JC is really bent on shedding his wholesome image for more mature roles. His appearance at the Experience: Blackout fashion show, really prepared him for this character. The senior program manager of the show relates that we will be seeing a different JC in this episode and it should not be missed.
