Hiro Torobu: Dreaming Big

Hair Color: Black Hiroshi “Hiro” Torobu is an 18-year old model who is of Filipino and Japanese descent – his mother is a Cebuana while his father is Japanese. Hiro is presently enrolled in San Beda College – Manila where he is taking up Business Management. He was supposed to play for the San Beda Red Lions basketball team (being a varsity basketball player during highschool at Southville International School), however, the Mendiola-based institution decided to drop him off its team. He ventured into modeling instead. While trying his luck in modeling the country, he joined several personality searches. He joined Mr. San Beda 2008 (was adjudged first runner-up); Mr. Summer Hunk 2008 in Sangay, Camarines Sur (placed second); and Magayon Bikini Open 2008 in Albay (got the second runner-up award). He also joined Sta. Lucia Mall’s Generation East 2008 where he unfortunately didn’t win any of the major prizes. He was also part of the Logic Clothing Co. model search (winner: Glenn del Rosario), but had to back out at the last minute due to prior commitments. Just recently, Hiro joined the new Ginoong Bicolandia pageant, one of the biggest annual pageants in the Bicol Region. He brought home the title. On October 6, 2008, Hiro will again be part of another pageant – Mr. & Ms. Expo-World – Philippines, a search for the Philippine representative to the Mr. & Ms. Expo-World competition to be held in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Hiro is one of the contest’s early favorites. The search will be held at the Metro Bar along West Avenue, Quezon City on October 6, 2008. Gates open at 7 o’clock pm. He dreams of becoming a popular actor in the country and he joined his school’s theater group to hone his acting skills. I hope he realizes his dream soon. I know he has got what it takes to make it big. |
