Xian Lim is one of the most recent additions to the Star Magic Family and ABS-CBN’s newest heartthrob. He is a member of the University of the East Men’s Basketball Team and was featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine’s 2008 issue of Philippines’ 69 Most Eligible Bachelors. He and the other members of Star Magic Batch 16 were introduced to Philippine showbiz a couple of months back via a grand launch in ASAP ‘08. From among his batchmates, he is the most visible on television, having been cast as a regular in ABS-CBN’s early Sunday afternoon soap opera, “Your Song Presents: My Only Hope”.

In the series, Xian joins the cast of the original “My Girl” barkada composed of Kim Chiu, Gerald Anderson, Nina Jose, Enchong Dee, Alex Gonzaga, Regine Angeles and David Chua plus Carlo Guevarra. He plays the role of Rick, the good older brother of the free-spirited Keeno (played by Gerald Anderson). Unlike Keeno, he took on the responsibility of running the family business at a young age. His personal conflict arises from the fact that he sacrifices his own happiness to follow whatever his father has planned out for his life.

Xian shows a lot of promise as a matinee idol. He has the characteristics of a future star – the height, the looks and the charisma. I hope ABS-CBN follows through with this young man’s career and give him the proper workshops to hone his craft. See him in his acting debut at “Your Song Presents: My Only Hope” every Sunday after ASAP ‘08 on ABS-CBN.
