Hunky model John Lopez is the latest person to be voted off in the first ever staging of Survivor Philippines, GMA7′s local franchise of the award-winning American reality hit series, Survivor. This makes the part-time auto mechanic the show’s sixth evictee and the seventh person to leave the Thai island of Koh Tarutao.

John was surprised to have been voted off in last Friday’s tribal council since he has early on forged an alliance with Jarakay tribemates, Jace Flores and Vern Domingo. In an interview, one can sense disappointment in his eyes. He relates that his “alliance”-mates betrayed him and that their decision to vote him off due to his failing health is uncalled for. The show’s avid fans may remember that John was hospitalized a few days back due to low potassium levels.

Despite this eventuality, John maintains that he will treasure the friendship he has developed with his fellow castaways. For him, the show is only a game and now that he’s out of it, life has to go on. He plans to resume work on his automotive repair shop and get back into modeling. He will be part of Folded and Hung’s anniversary fashion show, Streetcast Act 2, at A. Venue Events Mall on October 23, 2008.
