Simon Atkins on his movie debut

Green Archers point guard Simon Atkins can now add “movie actor” to his resumé as he makes his big screen debut in the upcoming GMA Films production, “Sundo”. Apart from being a cager and an image model for underwear brand, Hanford, Simon now appears in the said horror flick, albeit in a cameo role, as Iza Calzado’s fiancé. Although his exposure in the film is not that lengthy, Simon relates that he was elated when cast for the role as he admits having a crush on the towering beauty who would be his on-screen parter in his first film. Would this bring about a change in the cager’s career path? I hope not. The DLSU Green Archers would still be needing his services for a few more seasons. Nevertheless, an appearance on television and in movies once in a while wouldn’t hurt. Simon’s showbiz manager is Noel Ferrer, who also manages the showbiz careers of Chris Tiu and Ryan Agoncillo. |
