Aside from the outrageously huge prizes (One Million Pesos guaranteed every week plus tons of exciting prizes) being given away in TV5′s newest game show, “You & Me Against The World”, another feature of the show which would catch your attention is the host Gretchen Barretto’s manservant in the show whom Gretchen personally addresses as “butler”. Well, who is this butler? He is Nagae Ono, another nipo-brasileiro model who, like Akihiro Sato and Hideo Muraoka, has graced several advertising campaigns in the Philippines and has appeared in fashion editorials, tv commercials and billboards. He is tasked to handle all the moola to be given out to the contestants as well as all the gifts handpicked by Gretchen to be given away to the studio players.

To Join “You & Me Against The World”, just text S1 up to S50 to 2910 to become a studio contestant or H1 to H50 to 2910 to become a home partner. Then, register for the game by texting WREG Your Name/Your Address/Your Age to 2910. You only need to register once. However, you have to keep on downloading picture messages by texting S1 to S50 to be one of the 50 studio contestants every week or H1 to H50 to 2910 to be the week’s home partner.

The game is played this way – There are 2 studio players on stage and the rest of the studio contestants are members of “the World”. During the first round of competition, the 2 studio players play as a team to accummulate as much money in the money ladder. Gretchen will be giving them a set of multiple choice questions where they have to choose the letter corresponding to the answer which was chosen by the highest number of members of “the World”. Round 2 is played the same way as Round 1,the major difference, however, is that the studio players are pitted against each other. The player who gets the higher money-equivalent points at the end of Round 2 advances to Round 3. In Round 3, the player is asked trivia questions wherein he has to guess the correct answer otherwise he loses the game and will only take home half of the amount he accummulated in his money ladder.

The studio player who gets to the third and final round may be saved from elimination in two ways: 1.) If he is not sure about his answer, he may use his “ASK” option – he may either ask a member of “the World” or the host, Gretchen Barretto. If he asks Gretchen and decides to take the latter’s answer, the host will be giving him items (usually designer goods) as a guaranteed prize; 2.) He may also be “saved” if he gives the wrong answer but “the World” keys in the wrong answer too.

The rules to the game are relatively easy to get accustomed to but it would be better if you watch the show to see how it is played. “You & Me Against The World” airs Sunday nights on TV5 after the sitcom “Everybody Hapi” (which stars John Estrada) and right before “Shall We Dance” (hosted by Lucy Torres-Gomez).
