Kahit Isang Saglit premiered in the Philippines in the middle of September 2008. It boasted of a remarkable plot and a powerhouse cast of Filipino and Malaysian actors. Upon seeing the first few episodes I immediately became a fan. The story was fast-paced and the actors’ performances – superb! Despite these, however, the show surprisingly bombed in the ratings game. The reason for its poor performance could be its late evening timeslot or the fact that the Filipino viewing public is not interested in a television masterpiece such as this one and would rather settle to watch a reality show which promoted the use of guile and deceit among its contestants. So, the show, which was initially expected to last for more than one season, was inevitably cut short.
