Robert Vincent “Rob” Sy would have been 3 million pesos richer had he been declared the first ever Pinoy sole survivor during the closing ceremonies of Survivor Philippines on December 12, 2008. However, the stars aligned in favor of JC Tiuseco, the grand winner of GMA7′s recently concluded reality show; thus, Rob would have to settle for the runner up position. Rob, nevertheless, was happy about the outcome of the competition as he sees JC as a very tough competitor and really deserving of the title and the prize.

On a lighter note, Rob shared a very funny anecdote while they were still on the island of Koh Tarutao. He said that they were only allowed to bring two sets of underwear for the competition. As such, after using the underwear, they had to immediately wash them and place them beside their campfire to dry. Rob explains that he had some trouble getting used to “fire-drying” his underwear and as a result, both of these got burned in the crotch area. Since he had no choice but to wear them, he coyly admits that he would feel his balls “jingling” whenever he ran. This and other revelations will be aired tonight, December 14, 2008 in the Survivor Philippines Reunion Special on GMA7.
