Young actor Rayver Cruz started out in showbiz by being a reporter for the kid-oriented show, “5 & Up”. After it folded up, he ventured into acting and was signed in by ABS-CBN. In the Kapamilya network, his talents in dancing and acting were honed. He was included in the teen all-male dance group “Animé” with his brother Rodjun, Mico Aytona, John Wayne Sace, Emman Abelleda and Sergio Garcia. The six regularly performed in ABS-CBN’s Sunday Afternoon variety show, ASAP. Apart from his dancing stints, Rayver was also given acting jobs and he was seen in ABS-CBN drama shows and specials. Noticing his depth in acting, the Kapamilya network’s management entrusted to him, along with Maja Salvador and John Wayne Sace, the task of carrying a show – this was Chito Rono’s paranormal-themed series entitled “Spirits”. The show did well for the network as well as for the young actors’ careers. To verify Rayver’s bankability and versatility as an actor, the powers that be in the star network paired him up with “transitioning-into-adulthood” child actress, Shaina Magdayao. The couple clicked and had several team ups hence. They were even taken in by the Philippines’ leading fashion label, Bench, to be among its many celebrity endorsers. Since then, a lot of things has happened to Rayver’s career. It had it ups and downs. (Incidentally, Rayver is included in Starstudio Magazine’s Most Sizzling Men Under 23 list). However, the fact remains that he is still one of the most bankable and talented your actors today. As a testament to that, reports are surfacing that ABS-CBN will again entrust to Rayver a lead role in an upcoming big-budgeted soap opera – the Filipino television version of the international hit movie “Twilight”. According to sources, the rights to produce the television version of Stephenie Meyer’s vampire novel series was purchased by ABS-CBN for US$1 Million and the network tapped Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayo to play the Filipino counterparts of the characters Edward Cullen and Isabella Swan, respectively. Ignite Media is said to be co-producing the project which is tentatively titled “Takipsilim”. Hollywood blogger-turned-celebrity, Perez Hilton, even found this piece of news worth mentioning in his blog. Reports also mention that taping for the series is set to start on February 2009 on locations as near as Tagaytay to as far as Baguio and Bukidnon. The names of the director and the cast have also been revealed. Seems like it’s all systems go for the series, but some groups are allegedly against levitra 10mg the project and started an online petition to halt its production as it will ruin the success of the movie which inspired it.
