Alfred Vargas on revisiting his roots
|
Bronze-skinned hunk actor Alfred Vargas is not that visible on television lately. His last appearance in a soap opera was as Erebus in GMA7′s telefantasya, “Dyesebel”. Unlike his co-stars in the show, Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes who have been getting several projects, it seems that Alfred is not getting that much attention. Probably, to do something productive with his “idle time”, Alfred decided to go back to his roots – acting on stage. A lot of may people may not know that before getting acting roles on television, Alfred was a part of his school’s theater group, Ateneo de Manila University’s Tanghalang Ateneo. There, he was able to give life to characters immortalized by foreign playwrights, such as William Shakespeare, on stage. Now, he returns to his thespian beginnings as he becomes a guest artist in an upcoming play for the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) entitled “Saan Ba Tayo Ihahatid Ng Disyembre?” This is the final book of Tony Perez’s trilogy composed of the said play and the other two entitled, “Oktubre, Noong Tayo’y Nagmamahalan Pa” and “Nobyembre, Noong Akala Ko’y Mahal Kita”. “Saan Ba Tayo Ihahatid Ng Disyembre?” is directed by Nonon Padilla and will have weekend runs at the PETA Theater Center from February 6 to March 15, 2009. It’s scheduled run during Fridays is at 2:30 p.m. and during Saturdays and Sundays at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. |
