As “I Love Betty La Fea” opens it second book, she retains her homely face (she failed to go under the knife due to an untimely accident on the eve of her operation). However, it welcomes a new set of characters who will add more color to the already colorful world of Philippines’ Number 1 teleserye. Three new characters, Paulina, Olivia and Aldo, enter the outrageous world of the formerly ugly Beatriz Pengson, and to give life to them are Pops Fernandez, Karylle and Jericho Rosales, respectively.

What’s really interesting about this development is the fact that Jericho will be appearing in the show which will be competing head-on with “Luna Mystica”, the show topbilled by his ex, Heart Evangelista. When asked about this, he just says that these matters are management decision and are beyond his control. Nonetheless, he explains that since their shows belong to different genres, they are likely to have following from different types of viewers. He, however, hopes that his addition to the show’s cast would help get “I Love Betty La Fea” more viewership.

Let’s see how the entry of Paulina, Olivia and Aldo would affect the lives of Betty, Armando and the people of Ecomoda as Book 2 of “I Love Betty La Fea” starts airing tonight at ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida, immediately following “TV Patrol World”.
