Alex Castro on almost becoming the next big star

During the recently concluded finals night of GMA7′s reality singing competition “Are You The Next Big Star?”, Marilao, Bulacan-councilor Alex Castro‘s rendition of Rivermaya’s “Awit Ng Kabataan” nearly nailed first place finish for him had it not been for Geoff Taylor‘s better cover of Southborder’s “Kahit Kailan” during their face-off round. The latter went away with top acclaim among a host of different prizes while the bedimpled Alex went home to his constituents beaming with pride that he, at least, fought a good fight. I’m sure Alex is not at all disappointed with the outcome of the search. He had nothing to lose but everything to gain. His exposure in the show definitely boosted his popularity which could be helpful if he decides to pursue a career as a performer or if he wishes to seek higher political office. |
