21-year old actor Paulo Avelino has been cast in many a soap opera in GMA7. And in each of these shows, he did not disappoint. He consistently gave highly satisfactory performances in them which earned him “the Next Important Star of 2010″ tag from Filipino blogs and websites.

With the sudden departure of JC de Vera from the stable of the Kapuso network to be a TV5 talent, GMA7 took notice of Paulo and bequeathed upon him the role left by the former. To Paulo was given the role of Aureus, a pivotal character in the television show “Panday Kids”. However, just when the career of this Starstruck 4 alumnus is about to take off, a life-and-career-changing event ocurred – his rumored girlfriend is pregnant with his child, as confirmed by one of GMA7′s top honchos, Wilma Galvante.

I know a baby is a blessing, don’t get me wrong; but, we all know that when a young actor suddenly becomes a father, he becomes a less-bankable showbiz commodity. This destroys the illusion of female fans that one day the young actor will fall in love with one of them. Thus, affecting the young actor’s showbiz appeal. Just look at what happened to Dennis Trillo when his girlfriend was found to be pregnant with his child. Anyway, I just hope all goes well with Paulo’s girlfriend’s pregnancy and that GMA7 continues to give him work, so he would be able to support his would-be kid.

One good thing that resulted from this occurrence, however, is the fact that this settled the issue surrounding Paulo’s  gender preference which has hounded him since he joined showbiz.
